Costs and Charges
Whilst arranging the funeral, we will advise on legal requirements, costs and charges to be incurred, a full written estimate will be provided; this should be agreed and signed so that you feel confident with the funeral commitment you have arranged. The funeral account is divided into two separate parts, the Funeral Director's costs, and the Disbursements.
The Funeral Director's costs, These contain our professional services, which include the provision of a 24 hour a day on call rota, our professional service in making the funeral arrangements, Complete and distribute all administration and documents; make payments prior to the funeral taking place.
Bringing of the deceased into our care, use of our facilities including, viewing in our chapel of rest.
Your loved one will remain at our funeral home until the day of the funeral.
Hygienic treatment and preparation to the deceased.
Provision of a hearse.
Disbursements are the fees that we pay on your behalf to all third-party providers such as, Crematorium/Cemetery fees, Ministers/Celebrants, Florists etc. Our estimate will detail the approximate cost of any disbursements, however you will appreciate that we will have no direct control over these charges, and they could therefore be subject to a slight variation.
Paying for the funeral
We respectfully request that 50% of the funeral costs as a deposit five working days prior to the funeral taking place. This covers external fees, which are payable in advance. Our invoice for the remaining balance will be issued 7 days after the funeral has taken place. If you wish the invoice to be referred to a solicitor, please advise us as soon as possible to ensure that this information is added to our records. However; you remain responsible for the account being paid in accordance with our terms and conditions. Should the balance of the account be outstanding after 14 days, interest of 2 % per month will accrue.

Direct Cremation Services
A direct cremation is a simple, respectful alternative to a traditional funeral. Without a formal service at the crematorium, it offers families the flexibility to arrange a personal memorial or celebration of life at a time and place that feels right.
At Jaime Hailstone Funeral Care, every person entrusted to us is cared for with the same dignity, professionalism and attention, regardless of the service chosen. We manage all the arrangements on your behalf, providing clear guidance and support throughout.
Our direct cremations take place at Rainsbrook Crematorium, Rugby, with the family informed of the cremation date in advance.
Our Direct Cremation Options
Unattended Direct Cremation – £1,750
A simple, fully inclusive service with no mourners present at the crematorium. Includes collection within 20 miles of Rugby during office hours, professional care, a simple coffin, all legal documentation, crematorium fees and the return or safe keeping of the ashes.
Attended Direct Cremation – £1,950
For families wishing to say a quiet farewell, this option includes a brief chapel service for up to 25 mourners, with 10 minutes in the chapel and one chosen piece of music. The service also includes professional care, transport, all legal documentation, crematorium fees and the return or safe keeping of the ashes.

When you are trying to manage funeral costs, knowing exactly where to look for grants and financial aid can take a huge weight off your shoulders.
Financial help may be available through the Government, charities, or your local council.
Government Support
Funeral Expenses Payment
If you receive certain benefits, such as Universal Credit, Pension Credit or Housing Benefit, you may be eligible for a Funeral Expenses Payment. This can help cover burial or cremation fees and up to £1,000 towards funeral director fees.

Bereavement Support Payment
If your husband, wife or civil partner has died, you may qualify for a Bereavement Support Payment. This includes a lump sum and up to 18 monthly payments, which can be used towards funeral costs.

If You Cannot Afford a Funeral
If there is no money in the estate and nobody is able to pay, you may be able to request a Public Health Funeral. Local councils have a legal duty to arrange a simple, respectful funeral (usually a cremation) when no other arrangements can be made.
Important: Contact the Environmental Health or Housing Department of the local council where the person died.
Please remember that you are personally liable for any amount in excess of the agreed payment by the Department of Social Security (DWP), or indeed the whole invoice amount if a payment is not received.
